DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE SAFETY PROTOCOLS THAT HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE PROBATE COURTS AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE, ALL NON ESSENTIAL AND NON EMERGENCY IN-PERSON HEARINGS IN HARRIS COUNTY PROBATE COURT 2 WILL BE HANDLED REMOTELY VIA ZOOM.COM.  ESSENTIAL IN-PERSON HEARINGS WILL BE CONSIDERED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Probate Court 2 is accepting unsworn declarations in lieu of notarized signatures for the following documents: Oaths of Executors; Oaths of Administrators; Proof Of Death and Other Facts; Witness statements for Estates; Witness statements for Heirships; Inventories, Annual Reports and Annual Accounts.

Probate Court No. 2 will be conducting bench trials remotely via zoom.  Please note that due to the pandemic, Jury Trials are cancelled until further notice.  If you had a jury trial scheduled and prefer to have a bench trial in lieu of having your trial reset, please contact Yolanda Lopez.

Due to the limited staff in the office,  e-mails are preferred for settings and/or questions. 

For Probate of Will or Heirship, please e-mail Janet Jacobo.

Heirship:
Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m.

​Guardianship:
Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.

​Scheduling Conferences:
Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

Ancillary Docket:
Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.​

Submission Docket:

2nd & 4th Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

Pre-Trial and Status Conferences:
​Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

Show Cause Docket:

 Due to Covid-19, Judge Newman will NOT hold Probate of Will Dockets at any Courthouse Annexes until further notice.

Notice: Please refer to the County Clerk's Office Probate page for signed orders and Probate Court Settings for Docket Settings. 

ALL DOCUMENTS ALONG WITH EXHIBITS SHOULD BE E-FILED AS "ONE LEAD DOCUMENT".  
PROPOSED ORDERS SHOULD BE FILED AS A SEPARATE "LEAD DOCUMENT".

Attorney Ad Litems: If you are current on your certifications and are registered with our court, there is no need to re-register yearly. Please do notify the court of any address changes or if you no longer wish to receive appointments. Submit completed Registration for Court Appointment to yolanda.lopez@prob.hctx.net.

Appointee Fees: A certified copy of the Appointee Fee Order for payment from Harris County Indigent Program should be sent to:
